Onsiter VMS easy guide: How to find your expert faster with the Vendor Universe
Besides browsing the Onsiter marketplace to look for your ideal independent contractor, you can find independent contractors from the Vendor Universe.
What is the Vendor Universe?
The Vendor Universe connects you with consulting agencies — or vendors — from all over Europe — specifically, the countries in which we operate. This currently includes Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Germany, Italy, and Spain.
By connecting you with agencies, your search will have a wider and more thorough reach. You’ll be maximizing the chances of finding independent contractors with very specific skills, and in a much shorter amount of time.
Posting your assignment first is an important step as it acts as an ad with details about your project, skills, and other requirements. Consulting agencies on the Vendor Universe can then decide whether they have the right person for the job and respond to your invitation accordingly.
When you should use the Vendor Universe
When you post an assignment, independent contractors on the Onsiter marketplace will be able to view and apply for your assignment. You can also browse independent contractor profiles on the marketplace and invite them to apply for your assignments and projects.
However, if you’re struggling to find the ideal contractor from the marketplace, you can use the Vendor Universe to find additional, and potentially more ideal applicants.
How to use the Vendor Universe
- Once you’ve posted your assignment, click on Vendor Universe on the top menu.
2. You’ll come to this page, with a search and filter bar on the left of the screen. Enter the skills you’re looking for in the Free text search bar.
The Country dropdown will have your account location by default. You can add other countries if your assignment is a remote assignment.
The options under the dropdown menu currently include the country where Onsiter operates (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Germany, Italy), plus Austria and Switzerland.
You can narrow your search by entering the specific location where you require the contractor to work. Use the Distance slide bar to further refine your search.
3. Once you’ve entered these details, click on Search, and a list of vendors that have relevant contractors available will show up on the list in the main section.
You’ll find some details of the consultant agencies, along with their contact information. You’re free to contact these agencies directly, with no restrictions or fees incurred.
But for a speedier search, you can get in touch with several vendors at once by clicking on Select vendor. You can contact up to 6 vendors at a time.
4. Once you’re satisfied with your selection, click on Continue to assignment selection.
5. On the assignment selection page, choose the assignment you are enquiring about, then click Create message.
If you haven’t yet created an assignment at this point, click on Create new assignment to provide assignment details.
6. You’ll be able to send an email to the vendors you selected to request more information, contractor CVs, and anything else you’d like to know about the vendors.
7. Once you’ve entered your message and other details, click on Review and send to view your message.
8. Once you’re happy with everything, hit Send requisition. Your message will be sent to the vendors you selected.
That’s it! It won’t be long before the vendors get back to you with their response and you’ll potentially be able to sign on your ideal expert.
